Bring the Commerce Township Community Library to you!  

If you are interested in scheduling a visit with us, please fill out this Outreach Request Form.

 

Scheduling is based on service area and staff availability. We ask that you put in your Outreach Request at least four weeks before your visit. School visits are regularly scheduled during fall (September-November) and winter (January-April). We reserve May-June for special events and visits promoting our Summer Reading Program. July and August are reserved for in-library summer reading programs. 

See the list below for types of Outreach Services we offer:

School Visits: The options are endless! Some examples of what we offer include: presenting what's new at the library, playing games, sharing book talks, and demonstrating how to use library databases.
  
Storytime Visits: We visit your school or daycare classes to perform 20-30 minute story times with books, songs, and activities.
  • For schools and daycares within Commerce Township: We can accommodate monthly classroom visits.
  • For schools and daycares outside of Commerce Township: We cannot accommodate monthly visits, but will accommodate classroom visits to your school as our schedule allows. Reach out to us and we can help connect you with your local library.
Special Events: We set up a table with library information and activities at any of your school or community events. Examples of events we've attended:
  • Open Houses
  • Family Literacy Nights
  • March is Reading Month Celebrations
  • September is Library Card Sign Up Month
  • Farmer's Markets
  • Field Days
  • Sporting Events
  • End of Year Celebrations
Library Field Trips: Bring your group to the library for a 30-minute storytime/group activity followed by a library tour. We can adapt the field trip to your group's needs. 

Book Bike: We have a book bike that can carry library books to be checked out. This is great for outdoor events.
