	Early Literacy Calendar Click here to download our Early Literacy Calendar! Based on the Every Child Ready to Read® practices of reading, writing, singing, talking, playing (and now counting), each calendar contains twelve months of learning activities, book lists, nursery rhymes, and more. On one side is a calendar with a fun skills-building activity for each day and the other contains supplementary content like nursery rhymes, early literacy tips, song lyrics, or suggested reading material.
Talk: Text to Learn for Kindergarten Sign up by texting “TALK” to 75547 or visiting texttolearn.com. Parents and caregivers can enter their language preference (English or Spanish), cell phone number, child’s birthdate (for age-specific messages), and their zip code. If you have more than one child under age 6, you can enter a second child’s birthdate. Receive simple early literacy tips based on your child's age, and no more than 2 texts per month from the library about upcoming, age-appropriate programs!
	1000 Books before Kindergarten This reading challenge is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success! Any child ages birth to five years can participate.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library In partnership with the Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Commerce Township delivers an age-appropriate, high-quality book each month straight to children’s mailboxes at no cost to families. All children in Commerce Township, from birth to age five, are eligible for this program.
	Path of Pages Stroll along CTCL's Path of Pages. You'll combine family, fun, nature and literacy time in this interactive walk. The path starts on the sidewalk outside of the Youth Room. Read the first page then follow the numbered signs to guide you through the story.
